Pythium genus includes phytopathogens affecting the roots of different plants, most important is the trees in parks and wild forests. P.insidiosum is also pathogenic for humans.
To obtain an immunogen, we have cultivated Pythium debaryanum species in low protein medium and prepare an extract. Other speciei (see table below) were grown as additional +control.
Antiserum against Pythium(AS835) was obtained in rabbits and currently undergo investigation.
